As a result Maine s GIS group will play a larger role in ensuring the E9-1-1 databases are accurate. Municiple, County and State officials will have to work together to ensure the data is accurate and is updated in a timely fashion. The Office of GIS has recently made wholesale changes to it s GIS platform and maintenance tools in order to accommodate the new work. Local and county officials will now have new tools available to them for addressing purposes. National Digital Forecast Database (NDFD)
Mark Turner, Service Hydrologist for the National Weather Service (NWS) Weather Forecast Office (WFO) in Caribou.

The National Digital Forecast Database (NDFD) is the foundation of the NWS Digital Services Program. NDFD consists of a seamless mosaic of digital gridded forecasts of weather elements. NDFD data is free to the public and can be used to create text, graphic, gridded and image products.

This presentation will provide an overview of NDFD, a look at the GRIB to .shp utility and some examples of products created for the Emergency Management community with NDFD data and GIS tools.

Update on the Geolibrary Strategic Plan & Progress Towards an Integrated Land Records Information System
Richard Sutton, Reference Standard

The Maine Integrated Land Records Information System is part of the overall 2008 GeoLibrary Strategic Plan and is focused on providing a conceptual framework and functional specification for rationalizing land records throughout the State. This involves property parcel data, managed at the municipal level, and deeds data, managed by the counties, as well as state data managed the Maine Revenue Services. The objective is to optimize access to and utility of these valuable data by stakeholders at all levels who currently struggle to make productive use of them. This project is slated to continue throughout 2008 and into early 2009.

The Registration Fee for this conference is $50.00 for members or $65.00 for non-members and $10.00 for students (Follow this link for membership info). Please make checks payable to "Maine GIS User's Group".
